About Us

Stratford, Prince Edward Island, Canada is home to the Stratford Minor Basketball Association (SMBA).  The Association was formed in 2002 with help and support from the staff at the Town of Stratford Recreation Department.

We are a non-profit and volunteer organization with a mission to provide opportunities for youth to play basketball at recreational and competitive levels. Our target audience is children and youth between the ages of 4 to15 years. With the recent surge of interest in Basketball in Stratford, we have reached record numbers for the 2014/2015 season and we presently have over 160 players enrolled in the program.  Our teams have had some success in our short history, winning several provincial championships in the past few years.  We are also seeing many of our former and current players playing on Junior High,  High School, Holland College and University of PEI teams.

It is exciting to see the development of our young players not only in the sport of basketball but also in their growth as confident and mature young people.  The positive attributes they have learned by being part of a team has helped them in other aspects of their lives.

Thank you for your interest in learning about SMBA and please contact us if you have any further questions or comments.
